Hi,
Looking for some advice regarding the best CPU/GPU options out there for a 4K video editing system.
I'm torn between playing it safe with Intel Xeon and AMD Threadrippers. The Threadrippers are benching above most of the competition at the moment and puget systems don't seem to have much bad things to say about them. Obviously though the systems would need to be stable and a real workhorse so in that manner I'm leaning towards Intel. I've just never been overly impressed by Xeon workstations in the past in terms of raw speed.
The CPU would be paired up with a Quadro 5000 and 4000 over two systems. Would also require fairly stable thunderbolt 3.0 support due to a number of newer IO devices using that as its primary interface.
