Motion detection within a highlighted area

PostWed May 05, 2021 7:04 pm

I am recording myself painting where I must let the paint dry for a few seconds or longer here or there.

Is there a way that Davinci Resolve can detect the times when there is no movement(motion) within a highlighted area?

It would be a fixed point that does not move.

I don't believe so.

Jim, thanks for the reply.

Do you have an idea how I could solve this issue?

I'm assuming you're looking to cut out the "drying" segments, tighten up the edit.

Someone will have to watch the footage to find those parts. I don't believe this can be automated.

At least not without scripts, but I know nothing about that.

Exactly Jim. Thanks for the info. I looked into if there was some python script and looks like it would be quicker to do it by hand.
