17.2 Loading Fairlight Engine

PostFri May 14, 2021 8:26 am

Startup of version 17.2 is faster, thank you.

Still most of the time during startup seems to be spent for loading the Fairlight Engine.

I would very much prefer to move this waiting time to when the Fairlight page ist first used.
Many days I do not use the Fairlight page at all but work on editing and color.

There is a separate forum for Feature Requests.

viewforum.php?f=33

Best practice is to search first, to see if someone already asked. If not, post one idea per thread with a very brief description of the idea in the thread's title.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

The Fairlight engine is used for audio on all pages. it has to be installed.

That makes perfect sense Peter.
Thanks for the clarification.

Agree Peter, but I don't think it should 'load' for 4 minutes. Just like here:

I also had this long loading time for the first start. Updated from 17.1 studio.

The first time I started version 17.2, the Failight engine needed about 50 seconds to load.
Now it is down to 5 to 7 seconds, which is still the longest loading item, but not a problem.
All other items load in 0.5 seconds or less.

Don’t forget to power cycle the accelerator and computer after a firmware update
