17.2 a lot slower to me, can I downgrade?

PostFri May 14, 2021 4:58 pm

I have a lot of issues with this last update, and I think it might be a bug o maybe some performance issues that is hopefully temporary, so i want to downgrade to 17.1b8
Can I save mi database from 18.2 and open it with an older version?

In the upgrade is all automatic, so i want to know if theres any specific procedure I should follow

You should be fine downgrading to any version of 17.

That said, always backup your databases and active projects before making changes to a system .
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.

Andrew, your specs are very similar to mine. Same processor and same graphics card. In fact, you have more RAM than me (I only have 16gb) and here V17.2 is flying! No crashing so far. And even Fusion is much better. What I advise is to try to do a clean installation (I always do) and update the NVidia driver to Studio Driver 462.59.

I hope it works for you.

That did it, thank you

Unistalled, run ccleaner, erased cache manually.

Clean install, upgraded nvidia drivers.

For anyone having the same issues

It started going really bad again, an administrator commented a duplicated post of this.

Finally I just downgraded to 17.1 and is all ok.

It has some issues with my specs I guess
