I'm a new user, with Resolve 17 Studio on a 2016 Macbook, Big Sur OS. I can bring in 4K files from my Sony A1 camera, but the playback is very jittery, with frequent freezes. In the Settings Optimized Media and Render Cache panel, I have set:
Proxy Media Resolution: Original
Procy Media format: ProRes 422HQ
Optimized media resolution: Choose Automatically
Optimized Media format: ProRes422LT
Render Cache format ProRess 422LT
Enable Background Caching after 1 secs
I have right clicked on the clip, and selected Generate Optimized Media, which took about 30 minutes for a 12 minute clip, and selected Use Optimized Media if Available in Playback.
The result was actually worse the original. Can anyone help me to get the right settings for smooth playback?
