iZotope RX8 will do wonders at getting that hum out. Yes, best to avoid hum and other stuff when recording... but we all know (or should know) perfect recordings are a skilled art. Thanks Rick for that tip on 50%. I had not realized that, but is where I set I with the Rode video NTG. I also pick up extra sounds from the Nucleus-Ms, touching the camera, walking in gravel while shooting, breathing, those pesky bird-watchers way over there talking and clicking... But then it can be more interesting with some (the right amount) of ambiance. Also why I have the Rode stereo mic recording to a mixpre-6 timecode synced. Even the mics add their own. iZotope RX is nice although it dose cost a bit.
