BMD foster Mackie audio mixers ?

PostMon Jun 14, 2021 6:46 am

hello,

on some BMD pictures, they are Mackie audio mixers. So why promote this brand ? Is there technicals facts explaining this choice (functionality, effects...) ?

Which pictures? All I've seen in the photos are BMD's own products.

To enlarge question is it interesting from video point of view to have specific effects like delay... :?:

That could hardly be promoting or endorsing Mackie products. If you follow that line the pictures showing Teranex with Sony VCRs means they are promoting Sony, which of course they are not doing. These things are just set dressing for the picture.
If your question is "is it useful to have specific audio fx like delay etc when working with video?", well of course it is, that's why they are built into the ATEM product line including your own Studio Pro 4k.

I was intrigued by some "advices" from blogs, tuturials... one saying you need integrated sound card, other delay line, etc. I check facts (lots of rumours, and comercial links on internet  )

I plan to add audio mixer using XLR inputs of television studio. So according to your answer, no specific recommendation from BMD and no must have function.

Then I will take a look to usuals brands (Soundcraft, Allen & Heath or Behringer)

I wouldn't draw any conclusions from other manufacturers equipment being seen in BMD product photos - it's just used to give you ideas on how their equipment can be used - otherwise it starts asking questions about what this screen in the background of the Atem Mini Extreme photos is all about...

The BMD promotional photos tend to be heavily photoshopped and some of these images actually use 3D models of fictional products. For example the Røde NT-452 microphone pictured in this image doesn't exist and isn't even a concept -- it's from a commercially available 3D model. If you zoom in very closely you see that it doesn't even say Røde on the label, but Rode. Someone on the gearspace forum (formerly gearslutz) discovered that the model is available at http://3dsmolier.com/3d-model-condenser ... one-rode-3
