BMCC 2.5k LANC power on

PostSat Jun 19, 2021 2:44 pm

Hello,

I am hoping to install an old BMCC 2.5k camera in a location that is somewhat difficult to reach, to provide a unique camera perspective.

It would be very convenient to be able to turn the camera on remotely: I know I can use LANC to start/stop recording, but would dearly like to be able to turn the camera on+off, instead of leaving it turned on for the duration of the project.

I have read some old forum posts that document all the LANC codes for focus/zoom/recording/etc, but none seem to document how to turn the camera on+off.

Is this something that's supported? Or will I have to invest in a nice safe ladder?

I have that tested now with my old BMCC2.5k and a Libec Lanc Remote with a power ON/OFF button (which I know works with my Canon XF305 for triggering standby).

Unfortunately it does not work with the BMCC2.5k
Saying "Thx for help!" is not a crime.
