Use Speed Editor without dongle

PostWed Aug 04, 2021 9:45 am

Hello, I bought the speed editor with the dongle.
Now I am considering buying the DAVINCI RESOLVE EDITOR-KEYBOARD.
I would like to sell the speed editor.
I need the license myself for the big EDITOR-KEYBOARD.

Question: Is it possible to use the speed editor without dongle with the free version of DR 17 ?

I think it will function but to sell the Speed Editor I believe you have to lower the price drastic to find somebody!

Just keep the dongle so you can run the Studio version. The Speed Editor does not need it, but it does need version 17.xx. There is no direct comparison chart available for the Free and Studio versions of Resolve 17. Having used the Free version for quite some time and then upgraded to the Studio version, I would not want to go back.
This gives a hint at the differences. For certain codecs the Studio version will give you hardware acceleration as well.
