Top extents on M1 Macbook Pro not showing?

PostSat Dec 04, 2021 4:20 pm

I enabled extents for the scopes on the M1 Mac and while they work on my desktop, showing the top and bottom of the waveform, they only appear on the bottom in Mac scopes. Also, on another topic, the parade is broken and not showing up in the box at all.

Would disabling GPU scopes solve this and how can I disable it, since I don't see it in preferences anywhere on Mac?

I can confirm the observation regarding extents, but the parade is there for me.
No, an iGPU is not enough, and you can't use HEVC 10 bit 4:2:2 in the free version.

@Alex Try going into the scope view options (the button right above the scopes) and see if the Parade slider isn't all the way to the minimum. For some reason they keep resetting on my M1 every once in a while which causes the scopes to become blank.

Today I had the chance to look at an Intel Mac and it's all the same.

I made sure that the minimum and maximum are set to the respective values and the top extents still aren't showing, making me have to rely on the very faint waveform since the Mac's pixels are so small.

If you need something better, have a look at Nobe OmniScope.

Well now they have just gone to not showing up again... I will provide a screenshot with proof.

This is what I am talking about. The bottom extents are showing, while the waveform is barely or completely invisible, with the top extents not showing at all.

I found the solution for the disappearing waveform! The waveform for no apparent reason defaulted to 0 brightness! The top extents still aren't visible but this is far better than before.

I too have experienced and reported the scopes intensity slider magically resetting itself to zero!
This has been this way since at least 17.2.2, but could be earlier even.
