EDIT - I realized that HS codecs were all 10bit and the Non were 8bit and of course, the free version of resolve doesn't support 10bit from what i read. so I guess I answered my own question, and now need to get a licence
Any update on this topic? Sorry bringing it back up if this has been resolved, but I'm having the same issue with my A7IV and this codec. If i record in H264 there is no issue, only when I use the HS (h265) codec do I see this issue. I am on the free version of Davinci 17, if that makes a difference.
Hey man! I'm currently having this issue? Have you found a way to resolve it? Or another program that is better suited? Any help is appreciated! Thank you in advance
I'm having the same problem as well with the latest version of Davinci Resolve 18.1.4.
While trying to debug this problem I realized that while this videos played well in VLC, the same issue happened in Windows' native Video Editor app. This lead me to realize it was probably a system codec issue, so I uninstalled the HEVC codec I had installed before, rebooted then updated to Microsoft HEVC Video Extension 2.0.60091. This updated solved the problem in Video Editor and these videos are now playing fine in there. However, DaVinci is still having the same problem, which leads me to believe it must come bundled with its own codec and is using the faulty one.
I reached out to their support but it seems they do not offer support for the free version.

Thanks
Actually H.265 10-bit 4:2:0 is working fine when it's coming from other sources like my DJI mini 3 pro, it's only having this issue with coming from Sony (in my case it's A7R V).
Did you end up buying the studio version and did it solve the problem?
