pop up window stuck in background

Hi,

I am constantly getting this problem of the popup window not appearing in front of Davinci. Anything I do like paste attributes or anything where the window comes up I'm stuck. If I hit alt-tab I can see the window but all I can do is click on the x to close it, I can't bring it to the front.

I have to reboot to get it to work properly constantly. (I installed the latest update, still same issue.)

Hello. I rarely see that behaviour both in Linux and Win10.

Do you have others processes going on in background?

Not that I know of, other than Filezilla FTP server.

Try keeping that closed while your editing. Report back.

I have previously reported a similar issue on the Mac, in which a file open (or was it save?) dialog sometimes appears underneath the main Resolve interface and is inaccessible, making it practically impossible to work with - I worked around it by using a utility that moves the active window to a different monitor (I have more than one), then I can move it back and it stays on top where I can get to it.

Not sure if a similar tool might be available on the other platform, but either way BMD really should track this down and fix it.

I see that sometimes in Windows and I have seen in macOS on occasion.

When it happen to LINUx resolve (occasionally and usually when I’m doing something and zack the auto save kicks in) i solve by using the “window key” and click and drag the main resolve window: that will somewhat minimize the GUI a bit and move it out of the way giving me access…

I'm having the same issue. For me it's always on my PC and have never experienced this on my Mac. Both versions 17 and 18 have this issue. Restarting the app fixes it for a while but then something triggers it and so far I can't get to the bottom of what causes this to start. It's especially prevalent when working in Dual Monitor setup.

Yes this has been an occasional issue for years for me on Mac. Hopefully they'll find it at some point. If anyone has a reproducible test case I bet they'll let them fix it easily.

This is my first time experiencing the hidden window. On Windows 10. Resolve also seems to be blocking other apps from appearing. Dual monitor set up.

This happened just after installing Resolve 18.


BMD? Any thoughts?

I am getting the same issue on the 18.5 update, and the only way to make it go away is to start the program. Is there any way we can take care of this it's blocking everything. I have even tried resetting the WORKSPACE UI LAYOUT to its factory mode, but nothing seems to work. Switching between WORKSPACE to editing or another window also is a quick way out but this is getting annoying lol

I literally CANNOT WORK with this bug!

Same issue here... varying degrees across many updates. Happens to a few colleagues as well. Currently running Studio 18.6.4 Build 6, on Windows 10.

It's happened in the past, every so often... but it's been 'popping up' (no pun intended) to a maddening degree lately.

I work in dual monitor mode, but switching to single doesn't fix the issue... Only way I've discovered is to simply reboot Resolve. It's a real efficiency killer. Couldn't a simple fix be to not force Resolve to remain on top?
