Hyperdeck Ethernet protocol unsupported parameter

PostMon May 23, 2022 9:53 pm

Greetings,
My objective is to set up a hyperdeckHD plus to play a loop indefinitely with application of power.
Basically a plug and play media server for an installation.
I have one file on the SD card that I can play back fine though,
Ive not had any luck getting the "play on startup: enable :true" command to work.
if i query the "play on startup" status it shows as enabled=true
However when I cycle power to the unit it requires me to press play or send a play command in order to start playing.
do the files need to be named with a specific naming convention?
any other variables that need to be checked for this to work?

ultimately Id like for the following string to work.

play on startup: enable:true single clip:true loop:true

though this gives me a 101 unsupported parameter
i assume that is the loop:true?

any ideas on how to get this working would be helpful.
thanks,
-Jason

I tried testing this with a HyperDeck Studio HD Plus and it seems to work:

1) Telnet into device.
2) Send commands:

play on startup: enable: true
play on startup: single clip: true

3) Confirm that device is already in Loop mode. If not, enter the command:

play: loop: true

4) Remove power.
5) Plug in power.

HyperDeck boots up and starts playing the first clip on loop. I was not able to set it to play any other clip.

Thanks Adam for confirming and responding.
Ive done all of the commands and confirmed by querying and still it will not play back on power up.
Though it plays fine with a play command or front panel.
Ive tried turning off remote and switching sd slots with no change.
can you confirm what firmware you are running on your unit?
is the stored clip on your SD card one you recorded or uploaded?
any other variables you can think of that would prevent this from working?

HyperDeck Studio HD Plus
Version 8.0.2, Build 1c6a9065
Version 8.1, Build 598e3807

Both work.

I had recorded some clips of my own that I was using at startup onto SD cards. I tried with both cards in and one card in too.

Maybe you can see what happens if you record a clip from the HyperDeck instead of clips that you loaded up from your computer?
