The media management is one click away if needed. I don't have any stats, but I'm sure the vast majority of the users opens DR, drag their files (or folders already organized) in the media pool and start editing.
My personal experience with the Media page is not good anyway.
The face recognition is not great and doesn't work well (it misses so many faces), the cuts detection only work with perfect footage (nothing shaking) with clear cuts (no fade in out)... it's faster to find them manually, and the browser panel for the files si extremely slow. I have a folder with 1000 mp4 files, it takes a while to load the list, and their is no way to use native explorer from the OS to just past a path to go directly ton a folder.
