Downloading the S/w

PostWed Jul 06, 2022 10:27 am

Hi All,

Newbie here, have just discovered this forum and DaVinci Resolve. In trying to download it I fill in the registration details, but am unable to select a country as it does not give a drop down list the choose from. Hence unable to make the download.

Any ideas how to get around this??

Blackmagic don't seem to have an email address to write to.

Any help appreciated.

You can fill in a bunch of nonsense and still get the download to show up. Just make sure the email is formatted like a@b.c or something.

Not to bash BMD by filling in garbage but it's kind of crazy that you need to keep doing this everytime you want to download a new version as free user.

I wouldn't mind this system if after first installation you'd be able to get the download directly from within the software when it notifies you about a new version.

If you are on a Mac, you can download it from the app store instead which eliminates the form and provides updates through the app store like any other app on the store. I thought I had seen somewhere that it may be on the Windows store too, but never bothered to check.

never use the apple store version because of his limitations!

There is no Microsoft Store version from what I can see here. It wouldn't be bad to just do the same as the studio version and keep the credential fields but add a 'Download Only' link on the bottom left.

You won't find any Beta versions in the app store as Apple only allow full software versions.
