Slimmer Meter on Edit page

The meter on the Edit page is too thick and takes up too much space.
I would like to be able to change its thickness, for example by dragging the mouse.

I'm sorry @Jim, but – why, oh why – is that "feature request" by the OP "not practical" (and please excuse me for paraphrasing you here) ?

Is it because "you" – as Jim Simon – "need[s] at least those two tracks, A1 and Bus 1." ?
Or is it because "the devs should spend their time on more important features" ?

What about the needs of the OP?

Sidenote: I know this request touches on the frequently requested and discussed topic of more GUI flexibility. So my bet is that it is gonna be in vain. Like so many others in that regard.

i'd also like the ability to make it -in combination with this slimmer idea- the full height of my monitor, for more resolution. i often want this meter to be as high as possible.

I think it's just about the meter's width. Not about removing the meter entirely, which is already possible anyway.
