OK, I'm convinced. It's not a strictly AAC issue. Audio wfm generation is wonky in general under 22H2 in Win11 for me as well, although it basically doesn't seem to work at all for my AAC audio clips. Except for a few that do...
Just to verify, I used the Windows Update Go Back feature to go back to 21H2, and deleted the CacheClip folder and reloaded my test projects, and all audio wfms generated properly.
So yes, something weird going on there. Not sure it's something we can do anything about, but hopefully we can. I'll alert the dev team, if they are not already aware. Although based on your thread with Shrinivas on August 22, it seems they should be.
And just to address the heading of this thread, this is not an 18.0.4 thing. It's been apparently been happening a while. I guess the thread heading does confirm that 18.0.4 has not fixed it. And if Microsoft just did a general release of 22H2 yesterday, I guess a lot more Win11 users are going to run into this now.
