Wireless Lavalier Microphone System for 6K Pro?

PostSat Jan 28, 2023 1:29 pm

Can you explain as I am not an a expert in that area, what's the difference between those microphone polar patterns:
Cardioid vs Omnidirectional vs Hypercardioid vs Supercardioid?

Which one is the best option for taking video interviews, I have a shotgun mic which I use during interviews, but also want to upgrade my wireless lavalier mic and choose particular model with best microphone polar pattern.

Supercardioid is about 115°, hypercardioid is about 105°, omnidirectional are about 360°, and cardioid is about 270° with reduced reception to the sides. These numbers are pick up patterns. Lavaliers are typically either omni or cardioid. They offer unwanted sound rejection simply from their placement on the person close to the mouth. There is no "best" pick up pattern for a microphone. It's all about what do you want to pick up. Some rooms have a very nice ambiance others do not. Filming outdoors, do you want the wind in the background to show the conditions? Sound capture should be considered in the shot list for specifics then the right microphone for the job can be picked.

How can I find Locking 1/8" Male to MINI Dual XLR Male Output?
I want to record directly to my blackmagic 6k pro, I have searched, but couldn't find it.
