I am working on a workflow for color grading my hunting videos. I have a LUT on the FLAT camera footage and then an adjustment layer over the whole timeline to create the look. Long story short, I continuously updated the LUT until I found something that works, in other words, I might have used 2 nodes, one of which has a previous LUT applied to it, to then create a new LUT.
This worked for my FLAT correction LUT, but now I have 4 nodes on the Adj layer that created a very nice look, one node has a previous LUT applied to it and keyed down to have a very subtle effect. I then saved the new grade to have a single LUT applied to my adj layer next time. But then I tested that new LUT and it looks nothing like the grade with the 4 nodes.
Does a LUT take into consideration the keyed down node? It doesn't even look like the original grade even with that LUT node keyed all the way up, so I don't know if that is the problem.
I attached 2 screenshots, the more contrasty one is the one with the single node applied that doesn't come out like the original.
