Adding to the mix, I recently posted my "Worst Case Scenario" first test shoot with my BMPCC on Vimeo.
http://vimeo.com/chrisschiller/bmpccworstcasescenario As the description there relates, I decided not to go with beauty shots, with newly purchased glass and kit, but, instead to use what I had at hand, go out at the worst times of day and shoot subject matter that would let me know the boundaries of what I could do. Sometimes I went too far and there is still an adjustment period as I learn what I need to concentrate on with this camera that's different from the previous cameras I've used.
Overall, I am quite happy with my purchase. (And for those that saw a recent post of mine here right after I got it, the "ok" button sticking problem is nearly completely gone. I can now get the 1:1 zoom function to work so future videos will be better focused.
On the technical side, since I didn't have ND glass, I ended up setting the shutter angle at its shortest setting (45.0) instead. For the most part, it is not distracting in the image and allowed me to shoot in the high intensity light. I played with the ISO but I think I kept it at 800 to keep the noise at a default level since I was messing around with so much else. Some of the shots where in deep shadow which, to make the video I raise considerably in Davinci. It's amazing how much latitude you have (I shot 'Film' mode exclusively) to be able to play with when coloring.
