I'm a total ignorant about v-mount batteries. I used to carry with me 6 batteries for my 5d and that was enough.
So please follow me step by step.
Let's say i decide to buy the swintronix pb70 to power the bmcc and a smallhd monitor. Please tell me (give me a link of) any single part i'll need...i imagine i need a v-mount adapter too, and what else? cables? please help!
You will be happy to know that the battery mounts perfectly on the bottom of your camera as it comes. There is a v shaped plate the comes off the battery that you can mount on the bottom of your camera. That way you can attach and detach the battery with ease via this quick release system.
You can screw in a tripod plate on the bottom of the battery and Voila! your good to go. It does not come with a charging cord so you will need to get one like this:
http://www.adorama.com/S7PB70C.htmlI can't tell you what cable to get for it to power your monitor, it just needs to be able to plug into one of the powertap ports on the battery. If you don't know what a powertap port is,.. here is a good picture of a what it looks like... only it would be on the side of your battery.
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/2 ... Multi.html$300 ain't cheap, but you won't have to worry about power again. I don't know exactly how long this battery is supposed to last, but I have been shooting a lot with it lately, going out for several hours at a time and I have never seen it get close to running out. It does add a little bulk to your camera but it's not bad and you'll get used to it pretty quick. I can take some pics of how I have it set up on my camera if it helps.
EDIT: One thing I didn't mention that I am not sure if you were aware of but there is a power cord attached to the battery that plugs into your camera. So there really aren't any additional cables you need to buy if you are going to mount it on the bottom of your camera. Just the battery and the charging cable.
