I have been working on a LUT for the PCC4k for a few months now. The goal was to get a natural looking image with most of the dynamic range intact, beautiful skin tones and a nice highlight roll-off.
The LUT is also nice for the camera LCD, to feed an external monitor like the Atomos Shinobi and for a client monitor - so it has to look pretty.
I also tried to tackle the problem the PCC4k has with intense reds when they clip - they turn into pink.
Currently there exist three versions of the LUT:
LBK-Neutral-Hi-DeSat v5
This LUT is almost neutral to the colors in any way, it handles mixed light situations quite well, the highlights roll-off increasingly de-saturated like analog film. It has a nice glossy look, but therefore does not show the last bit of details in highlights (they are there but very low contrast for a smooth roll-off).
I have used this LUT for half a year now.
Then there is a modified version which does some things better, a few things worse than v5.
LBK-Neutral-Hi-DeSat v9
This LUT has been built on the base of v5 but offers some interesting modifications.
1. Retains more details in the highlights, but the trade-off is a less glossy look compared to v5
2. Better handling of almost clipped and clipped reds which get shifted back from pink to red, but might have side effects on other reds
3. Less magenta in skin tones than v5 - reminds me more of the way the Alexas render skin tones
4. Less magenta and less yellow in green tones which changes grass and leaves back to a more natural, less brownish look
5. Slightly increased over-all saturation compared to v5
6. Better suited for filming fire, flames, sparkles than v5
So far I haven't found any footage where these two LUTs would behave unexpected or strange, but you never know what happens when filming mono colored LED light. So keep an eye on that.
NEW: LBK-Neutral-Hi-DeSat v10
I've again modified v9 after finding a few flaws with reds turning too much into orange. Should work better with roof bricks. This effects also skin tones and make them more balanced between v5 and v9.
You should prefer v10 over v9
