I'm probably not being very helpful by saying RAW in my title when I meant HEVC as per my other reply.
I always shoot RAW for stills so assumed this is all RAW or a Canon version thereof much like their Compressed "RAW" for stills, but as I said I'm still getting my head around the video side of things with the R5 MKll and I read that shooting pure RAW will increase the files sizes dramatically.
What's strange to me is that if I open up Canon's DPP software I can see the clips, but I can't play them, but the Canon RAW Development software refuses to even acknowledge that files even exist in the directory RAW or otherwise. But if Canon has the ability in Camera to shoot HEVC files then one would assume (perhaps incorrectly) that at least one piece of their software would read said files.
