PostGres DB connection on LAN

Hi guys,
I can't connect my RESOLVE WORKSTATION to a DB on a lan server correctly running postgreSQL.

the Mac mini server with postgreSQL shared DB does not have RESOLVE INSTALLED.
My society bought the APP STORE VERSION of Resolve 14, so it came without postgreSQL: I had to install it separately both on workstation and server.

so, the question is:
how can I make them communicate?

I tried to create a new postgres database on the server from the workstation but the result is:
"Failed to open database connection: could not connect to server: Connection refused Is the server running on host "10.0.1.2" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432? QPSQL: Unable to connect."

I'm the system admin too and the ports are all opened.

Assuming you haven’t, Please un install the PostGres you manually installed and install the DaVinci Resolve Studio from the BMD web support site inc the PostGres and Project Server options. This set us up the PostGres as needed and provides the project server to get the link to connect. You can then connect your Studio version from the App Store.

You don’t actually use the Resolve on the server so u can delete that after install.

starting Davinci Resolve Project Server I got this answer: "Davinci Resolve Project Server connection error. The PostgreSQL server in either not running or the password is incorrect."

pgAdmin3 doesn't let me do anythink

still having troubles in port 5432 listening, where is the DATA folder with postgresql.conf file in this 9.5 release?

hi Peter! thank you, solved.
clean uninstalled postgresql and installed DR14 studio from BMD site just for postgres support.
configured postgresql.conf + pg_hba.conf and boom, everthing ok. it works fine.
