In R17, generate proxy media for all of the r3ds in a format that's friendly for him to decode and small enough to send him over dropbox or similar. In the project manager, right-click on the project and select "export project archive." Choose a location, uncheck "media files," uncheck "render cache," but check "proxy media." .zip the archive and send it to him.
When he opens it, he first needs to unzip, then open it from his Resolve Project manager by right-clicking in the background and selecting "Restore Project Archive." If he turns on "use proxy media if available" in the playback menu, he'll be able to see the video playback, as well as hear it in Fairlight.
Because the Fairlight viewer is so small, he won't need super high-quality video. It's really just for reference, so that he can time sound effects and get an idea of what's going on in the video at any particular moment.
If his hardware will accelerate h.265 decode without interfering with audio processing, that'd be the smallest file to send, but you should test it first. If it's either too choppy for him, or takes too long for you to encode, it'd be better to go with something like prores proxy on a mac or some flavor of dnx on PC.
