After visiting various sites to investigate the reason Davinci does not open, it was noted that this is somewhat common, and one recommendation was to uninstall then install the program. After completing the uninstall using Geekuninstaller to force removal of any traces of DaVinci, I attempted to add first 16, then 17, and both come back saying "failed to install DaVinci Control Panels. Continue with others components?" When I click yes, I get the message again, over and over, "Failed to Install Control Pane". There is a brief "flash" of a black screen as if it was trying very briefly to proceed, but then it goes back to repeating itself in the small, pop up box. I had some problems unrelated to DaVinci, that was putting things into a temporary file. So I added another user as "administrator," and tried to add DaVinci through myself as administrator, but that resulted in the current problem as stated. As a side note, I tried Openshot video editing, but that was too unfamiliar, then I tried Lightworks, and that was lagging to the point of unusability. I had that platform all of 10 minutes. Now I'm back with Davinci. At this point, I'm willing to go to the paid version if it would allow me to download the editor successfully. All I do is create videos from my cycling around West Los Angeles, but because of the frequency, I need an editing platform that would allow the titles, fades, texts, and other things I so accustomed to. Anyone, ANYONE, who had this experience and found a solution, please advise. It would be greatly appreciated.
