Editing technique - slip edit (view in source)

PostWed Dec 06, 2023 1:03 pm

Is it possible to slip edit a clip in the timeline while seeing the in and out points in the source viewer? Or can you move the in and out points in the source viewer to contain the same duration? This is something I used all the time in other NLE's but haven't figured out a way to do it in Resolve.

I've included an image to help illustrate in case I'm not explaining it correctly.

Well, I feel quite embarrassed. In other NLE's you use shift to drag the source viewer duration to move the in and out point. In Resolve you hold shift and click on the in or out point to drag duration.

Hopefully my oversight helps someone else down the line.

Awesome monologue, thank you!! I have been using the slip tool in the timeline, but missing this feature from Premiere a lot. Just like that, you nailed it, thanks!
