Video shoot help/Question about timelapse/Bmpcc6kpro

PostThu Dec 14, 2023 6:42 pm

Hello to all the BM community :) Soon i will have a commercial shoot and I have this scene where I want to make a timelapse around a table ( in a circle ) with 4 people playing board games. My question is, should I use the timelapse feature in camera or should I Just let the camera record normally?

Would love your help and thoughts on this and Thank you in advance.

Video shoot help/Question about timelapse/Bmpcc6kpro

If your goal is to show a speeded up version of the game, Timelapse should be an easy solution. Timelapse records using the same project frame rate as your normal film playback such as 24 fps. But you set an interval so that you record many times less frames for a given second. For example if a game takes ten minutes to play but you want that to playback in your film in one minute, then you record Timelapse shooting one frame every ten frames that the camera could shoot. You’ll want to experiment to get the effects you want. If it’s not fast enough on playback then select a longer interval for recording Timelapse.

I think you limit your post options shooting timelapse without much gain.

I imagine a tight medium with the game in the foreground. What’s the lowest timelapse framerate you can shoot where this isn’t a hot mess? In a timelapse things are moving across the screen in small increments. Anything less than 5 or 6 frames a second and your subject is going to be teleporting around the screen.

Baking in the look isn’t worth the few GBs saved.

Good Luck
