Stretch Clip to fill Timeline Width

PostTue Feb 06, 2024 5:31 pm

I'm guessing (*hoping*) there is an easy way to do this I don't know about.

I have a static image that is taller than my timeline, and I want to automatically size it up so that it fills the entire timeline width and remains centered on the y axis (effectively cropping off the top and the bottom).

It's easy enough to do this for one clip by eyeballing using the zoom feature of the Video Inspector, but I would love an easy way to do this automatically for a whole bunch of clips.

Is there some setting like "fill timeline width" buried somewhere?

Have looked around and can't find it myself. Many thanks if you know.

Select the clips, go to the inspector in the retime and scaling section, change the scaling to fill.

There is also a project setting that affects all clips in the project.
You need to go to Project Settings -> Image Scaling -> Input Scaling ->
Mismatched resolution files -> Scale full frame with crop

Also just figured out how to do per clip:

Code: Select all
Inspector › Video › Retime and Scaling › Scaling = Fill
