It is sort of shocking to me that the DaVinci Resolve Multicam editing is so bad. You would think the makers of a huge line of switchers would have great multicam editing.
The multicam editing in FCPX is fantastic except it removed the flatten (decompose in place) that used to be in FCP7. Please reference how FCPX does multicam and either build on that or just be inspired heavily by it.
Here are the things that I request be improved in multicam editing:
-If we are in multicam viewer mode, please leave it on there so we don't have to keep clicking it in order to see it in the preview pane. It is a HUGE waste of time and clicks to keep having to turn the multicam viewer on whenever we click to any other timeline.
-Add some sort of keyboard shortcut to turn on the multicam viewer. Cmd+Shift+7 in FCPX.
-So if you change views for whatever reason, you have to manually click to show the multicam viewer in the drop down under the preview window. Pretty frustrating.
-And there is no multicam view within the multicam timeline itself. We have to manually disable clips or disable tracks to see what is on each track. The multicam viewer should be in the multicam timeline too. That's just crazy.
-If we changed both the audio and video in a multicam on the same cut line, why can't we delete that clip. The audio remains linked.
-In the multicam page, Allow us to move the order of the tracks in the timeline itself instead of having to use the index. Just add a burger icon or some other icon in the far left column next to the track number.
-Please allow us to see the Source Monitor, the Timeline Monitor, and the Inspector at the same time. You can see the Source, Timeline, and Media Pool. So there is room to do it if we turn off the Media Pool. This would be very useful for Multicam Editing.
-Overall using the keyboard shortcuts and trying to edit in real time or faster than real time using keyboard shortcuts is buggy. I end up having to the mouse to make the cuts and switches. That is bad.
-Multicam is just pretty bad and pretty buggy. Sometimes it will let you use keyboard shortcuts to change angles and sometimes it won’t.
-I end up just making a cut on the timeline, then right clicking either the video or the audio and then click switch angle in the right click context menu. I have found this to be the most consistent.
-And I can’t find a good way to manipulate in and out points in the preview monitor on multicam. This is hard to explain in text.
Don't take my word for it, see Larry Jordan's article on it from his blog:

If I am missing how to make a keyboard shortcut to show the multicam viewer, please let me know. We searched but couldn't find it. I could just be blind.
Thanks!
Just to state though, overall I think DaVinci Resolve is a great piece of software and I love the Blackmagic cameras. I just want to make the full switch over. But just my two cents, the multicam editing needs a ton of improvement.
