Camera update >V8.1 does not run on WIN11/10 on my devices

PostFri May 10, 2024 8:18 pm

Hello,

i tried on 2 of my old native Windows Laptops and also under VM-Ware under Linux, both systems WIN 11 and WIN 11.

On all devices, camera update 8.1 runs properly.

What happens with Camera Updates > 8.1 so i.e. 8.6b:
the installer works properly to instell the updater

When starting the Camera Software Updater Application, it takes some secs and something seems to load, but then it seems to quit.

With the latest Version V8.6 beta:
In the debug file, i find the following message:
[0426/184830.639:WARNING:resource_bundle_qt.cpp(83)] locale_file_path.empty() for locale

when starting the programm with Windowsdebugger, it says it is missing the QTWEBENGNIE_LOCALES_PATH and particularly the en_US.PAK
the search paths, specified do not exist in the Blackmagic camera setup directory

other breakexception occurs after loading: WKSCLI.DLL and and QT6WebEngineCore....

could some one from the dev team or anyone else who ran into this provide some solution?
Or give me a hint which requirements must be met / were changed since V8.1?

I should add, if it is language related, the systems were originally set up in german.

edit:
further testing: it runs on a laptop with dedicated gpu such as rtx 4xxx
the other devices did not have a dedicated gpu.

best regards
Leslie
