Streaming bridge srt configuration?

PostTue Jun 04, 2024 8:54 am

Hi. I have tried to configure yesterday the streaming bridge with atem constellation

Strange problem:
Configuring it using the atem setup app I choose a random port like 10001, opened it on the firewall with TCP and UDP, but in the atem setup conf the port check report always the port closed.. therefore I check the UDP and TCP ports from my external server with nmap and the port result opened.. so I try to stream the same with the G2 but doesn't work..

After further tedious verifications on the firewall and vlans.. I try to change the port to the rtmp standard 1935.. therefore I open the firewall port and the atem setup report it opened!!

Surprised by all this, I try to make a stream and it works in rtmp selected on the G2..
So I try to select SRT and no stream start!..
For verification I open the XML file and I see that both rtmp and srt are using the same port TCP rtmp, UDP the SRT..
Therefore I verify newly the port 1935 from external wan and both protocols are allowed.. but no srt connection could be established from the G2.

My question is, exits a G2 firmware update to works with SRT?!

And.. I have a multicast srt server that I use to send you an input to multiple srt decoders.. The remote camera control in SRT video stream works using TCP connections in the rtmp or is embed in the srt stream?

Please I have urgency.
Regards.

For starters, suggest opening a new port forward server in UDP only at between say ports 5000-6000. It's exactly what we do for SRT streaming to vMix. Avoid wireless connections from start to finish.

Alternatively
SRT Miniserver is a very useful SRT encoding/decoding resource and offers a Proxy server option, which negates having to port configure the router at the receiving end. It offers a free trial (with periodic logo), or $50 for 30 days rental for four lines of SRT.

I've not run SRT from our UB G2s, so can't advise that specific.

Thanks for the answer but this it's not a solution.
I'm talking of streaming bridge solution and not adding other layers of complexity with other systems to pay. Regards.

No G2 firmware update for SRT compatibility yet. Remote camera control usually relies on TCP connections separate from the streaming protocol.

Thank you.
Anyone tried to modify the XML file to stream the srt to different address and use rtmp TCP to the streaming bridge IP for the remote control?
I need to send the SRT stream to my multicast server in a data center and maintain the remote control over TCP from the mobile van.
Regards.
