Keyframes Not Deleting Without deleting entire clip *more*

PostSat Dec 05, 2020 7:07 pm

Hey there

I have a new issue which has become really annoying. When I select a keyframe from the drop down keyframe screen on a clip, and try to delete that one keyframe, the entire clip now deletes. There is not a way to unselect the clip and work within the drop down keyframe panel for the clip. So if I click on a keyframe it automatically selects the clip as well and now deletes the entire clip. So I have to keep starting over by clearing all keyframes from that clip in the Inspector window to start again to get to the result. I have also noticed that recently, if I add a keyframe near the end of the clip (it's nearly impossible to get DR to hit the very end of the clip so my workaround is to add one close to the end and drag it to the actual end) even if I have the keyframe at the end selected and then go up to the inspector to adjust it, DR is automatically adding another keyframe I don't need. Even having a keyframe in the clip already selected. DR is overriding that clip being selected and just adding a new one as soon as I try to adjust it in the Inspector panel. This seems like a new issue. I never had this problem before and it's getting REALLY frustrating. Any suggestions?

This isn't normal, so my first inclination is to go with Operator Error. Though it's difficult to find the error without seeing what you're doing.

Maybe post a screen grab?

I think there's a bigger keyframe problem, but it seems inconsistent. It was not working for me, then it was, now it's not again.

When it works, I can copy/paste keyframes within a clip and I can delete them in the spline view using Ctrl-X or Del. But when it's not working, Ctrl-X or Del removes the whole clip, and Ctrl-V pastes in a whole second copy of the clip.

There have been a number of posts on this, and the folks without the problem seem to believe it's operator error. That may be true, but I think it's something more subtle than messing up the select/delete process.

One post suggested clicking Caps Lock on and off. Another said he had to click around in the screen for a bit before it started to work.

It was actually working for me for awhile, until I closed the app and opened it again later. Now it's not, and the only way I can delete a keyframe is unclicking the red diamond in the inspector.

I'm brand new to the app. If any of the seniors can help out I think a bunch of us noobs would appreciate it. If I figure it out later I'll come back and update my post.

Same problem, and its on and off.

Deleting keyframes in the clip on the timeline in edit will delete the whole clip.
Delete will delete the clip and backspace removes the clip.
Can't copy and paste the keyframes or the whole clip is duplicated and some days it works and other days it doesn't. Yesterday could delete keyframes fine but today I went looking for a solution.

One dude on youtube said while the clip is selected go to fusion and back to edit, didn't work for me tho, did for him.

Only way to remove a keyframe is to go to the frame and unclick the keyframe in the properties. Sucks when I only want to delete X and not the Y. My mind is hardwired to just hit delete so then now I have to undo and reopen the clip and find the keyframe I wanted to delete again go to the exact frame and go uncheck the keyframe, add back in the Y transform and move on.

It adds an hour by the end of the day because I do it so often.

I have had this issue as well.

I find it only happens when I try to auto reframe multiple clips at once. If I go clip by clip and hit the auto reframe button on each of them individually, this problem does not occur for me.
