ATEM Television studio HD interface to Tally lights

PostMon Jun 24, 2024 1:29 pm

I have a ATEM television studio HD 8 way switcher which is used for live streaming. We normally operate 3 cameras and have tried to Interface Hollyland Tally light unit via RJ45 with switcher. Hollyland unit is said to operate with a wide number of ATEM switchers picking up messages automatically from the ATEM Ethernet port. Television studio HD is notably absent from this compatibility list! Have you managed to successfully interface the two units? My endeavours so far has found Tally box does not pick up messages from RJ45 to illuminate appropriate lamp. Yes, I have set IP addressing as instructed in user guide, and yes both units are reachable by pinging their IP.

I was hoping that either -
a) someone might say they had found it is possible to interface these two units
b) someone might know if there are differences in the “live Program channel” message structure on RJ45 port between the various switches in the ATEM family

The control protocol is likely the same, unfortunately the device ID isn’t. Seems important, did you reach out to Hollyland?

Good Luck
