Hi, this lens is listed as compatible in the Approved media list for Blackmagic Cameras and accessories ; does this allow the use of autofocus and exposure please?

Yes, but when you say "autofocus" you have to understand that none of the Blackmagic cameras offer continuous autofocus. You can use autofocus to focus on something that's not moving, but if it begins to move the focus will not adjust automatically to maintain focus.
Resolve 19 Studio, M2 MacBook Air with 24 gigs of RAM; also Mac Pro 3.0 GHz 8-core, 32 gigs RAM, dual AMD D700 GPU.

thank you Brad ; I knew that it is not a continual autofocus ;

do you confirm also the iris control (manual or auto) from within the camera please ?

Hi,

I have the Panasonic 35-100/2.8 II, 25/1.7 and 42.5/1.7 - all of them can be used with the "auto"-focus and auto-exposure with my BMPCC4K, so I do not think 12-35/2.8 II will be any different.
However please keep in mind that BM cameras do not have continuous autofocus feature at all - no lens whatsoever can track a moving object. Use of "auto"-focus and auto-exposure is initiated by pressing the relevant button on the camera.

I don't have the Pocket 4K (only the original Pocket 1080p) but it works fine on that camera (iris control as well as autofocus) and I know plenty of people use the Panasonic 12-35 version II on the Pocket 4K; I've never seen any mention of incompatibilities or inability to control iris with the camera.

The OIS on this Panasonic lens is okay but not great; the stabilization on the Olympus 12-100 is far better but that's a slower and much larger lens.

However keep in mind that metadata exchange/interpretation between the lens and camera are... very "suggestive" in lack of better word in my limited English vocabulary.
I've just made a test shot with the 35-100/2.8 II with auto-focus and auto-exposure and this is what it looks like in Resolve:
35-100f2.8.jpg
35-100f2.8.jpg (462.78 KiB) Viewed 1441 times

As you can see the camera decided that the aperture is set to f3.3, which I do not believe the lens can do, also the distance is reported as 326 mm, while in reality is was 1000+ mm...

I have 3 PanaLeica MFT lenses and they're all capable of 1/10th integers in AE.

Good Luck

Yes. Both buttons on the back of the camera will work with this lens. (I use them all the time.)
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
