Lighting Ursa Camera Body In The Dark

PostMon Jul 08, 2024 5:44 pm

Hello,

Does anyone have recommendations on how to rig the Ursa G2 camera so that i can be relatively easy to see in the dark? I found myself fumbling around during a July 4th recording. (I needed to bounce around alot to change settings and framerates).

Was thinking a tiny low level light rigged up that hangs over might be nice.

Thanks.

My rig is usually in a dark alcove at the back of a theatre with no light. I use a very small pocket flashlight powered by a single battery with an adjustable circle of light. The flashlight includes an alligator clamp that I close on one of the cables on my rig; then I can see the focus scale on my Fujinon zoom.

I use one of these, either powered from the mains or from the usb on the camera battery

have you considered using a book light?

The book light suggestions are good; another option is a console light (for mixers/consoles used in live sound). These are not widely used nowadays since most engineers use digital mixers whose controls are lit internally, but you can still find console lights for people who prefer analog mixers.
