BMPCC4K: Black Screen after exiting Play

Firmware: 8.6

Hi Folks
I've recently acquired a BMPCC4K and all is working well - except for one odd thing.
About half the time that I exit Play - by hitting Record - the camera comes back with a black screen. If I record with it in this state it does record a clip with what the camera is pointed at - but no display until I go back into Play mode. Sometimes when I exit Play mode the screen comes back, sometimes not. Not sure if it's related at all to if a clip is playing when I hit record to exit Play.

Is this a known thing? I've googled for it and not found anything.
Since the camera is new to me I'm not sure what build of 8.6 is in there. Any way to find out?
Haven't tried to update to the latest yet.

Perhaps the Settings menu page one will give you the build. Let us know please.

As for your black screen, have you considered loading an earlier firmware version to see if that fixes the issue.

Wanted to wait for comments to see if this is known/understood before changing the firmware. I'll reflash and see what happens.

Exact same problem on 3 bmpcc4k.Firmware loaded 9 (8.6). Sometimes I have to remove the power to get the monitor back.
I'm hoping for some quick updates.

I had the exact same problem on 8.6. Reverted to 8.1 and now it’s stable again.

I’ve stayed on 8.1. When firmware 9.2 is released, I’ll likely update the BMPCC4K firmware. No date has been set for that but I’m sure it’s in the pipeline.
