mini pro Iso need to not record all streams

PostWed Jul 24, 2024 6:24 pm

Running a show this weekend with 4 cameras live most of the time, and 5 for two of the shows. Numerous times, with a 1t ssd that is on the approved list the recording would fail. I checked and the drive was only about 50% full. This failure also occured on a 2t ssd that also worked that I built from a higher end desktop class ssd in a usb-c case.

I love the ISO recording, even at the insane uncompressed sizes. But to save what little compute power there is, we need to be able to NOT RECORD inputs that are not being used.

Please tell us that this is planned in the very near future.

It sounds like you’re not using approved usb media because if you are, you won’t have that problem. Regardless, I agree with you about selecting channels because it makes it much more feasible to record in higher bitrate but when every camera is 40g x 9 cameras, when you only need 3, that’s unfortunate.

I didn't think the Atem Mini Pro ISOs recorded uncompressed?

If you do not put a video source on a port then the iso recording of that channel will only be a rather small file due to the fact that the iso recording is x264 compression always at a variable bitrate depending on what is coming in to a max of 70MB/p sec with a lot of things happening fast in the frame. So if the image stays black then the file stays small.
I first bought the Atem Mini Pro. Later the Extreme Iso. I record theater plays usually with 1 manned + 5 unmanned camera's. I try to create a live mix as much as possible so I only have to correct mistakes in post.
