Live multicam

PostFri Jul 19, 2024 1:26 pm

I am aware that Blackmagic allows a lot of collaborative features. I have just seen Finalcut Cam. This is Apple's own free iPhone camera app. It has lots of manual controls, like the Blackmagic camera. It also has one great feature - Multicam. If you have an iPad running Finalcut, and up to four iPhones, you can wirelessly connect them with a combination of WiFi and Bluetooth and do a very simple multi camera recording.

Just a thought, but why doesn't Blackmagic add something similar, without the requirement to go via a cloud server?

Did you read about ATEM?

No I didn't see that. I know this is a simple piece of kit for doing multi cam. Can it do it wirelessly? I quite like the idea of filming my kids playing football [soccer], with three other parents around the pitch and an iPad to coordinate. Much easier than an ATEM and lots of wires. I would like it much more if Blackmagic allowed their camera app to do it! Maybe a DaVinchi Studio camera phone app! Just like the free one but a small charge and multi cam features!

Well following my request for a multi cam solution I hear BM Can 2.0 is out, with exactly that feature. Wow, they do listen (but probably just coincidence!).
