How to remove hood from 4k Studio Camera

How do you get the hood off without damaging the camera?

The G1 has 6 thumbscrews, the G2 has a lever/tab release.

The camera is at the church

There are 4 metric Allen screws on the camera nearly in line with the hood but they do NOT connect to the hood.
It mearly pops in and out
I used a flat screw driver to pry it off
