Camera setup app not promting to install new firmware

PostSun Aug 25, 2024 11:12 pm

Hi. I have recently purchased the BMPCC 6k pro which had firmware 8.6 installed.
I am trying to update it to 8.7 Beta version, which I have downloaded from the support page.
Installation of Camera Setup app on my mac OS worked perfectly. When I connect my camera it is also recognized. However, the software does not prompt me to install the new firmware, I only see the small icon which when clicking on it shows the setup, date and time page. There it shows the camera has 8.6 firmware installed and also on the camera itself this it the information I got.
I have also verified the version of the camera setup app in the about section and it states that it is 8.7.
Any ideas why the softare is not prompting to install the 8.7 version? Is there any way to force it manually?

I'm having the same issue (now updating from 8.6 to 9.1). Any chance you figured this out?

Thanks!

8.7 only has changes for the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K + Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 while 9.1 is for Pyxis. Read the notes when you download the updater.
