I'm going to tell you something you don't want to hear: You might like it less, but Que's instructions were correct and that's the correct geometry for that shot. If you wanted to get an optical 2.39:1 anamorphic image from this setup then you selected the wrong recording mode and/or used the incorrect lenses. It's very simple math:
• You shot with a 6:5 extraction of the sensor.
• Your lenses performed a 1.5x horizontal squeeze.
• 6:5 multiplied by 1.5x horizontally is 9:5 (1.80:1) which is what you're seeing when you changed the setting in your project's media pool.
If you wanted to get a 2.39:1 final aspect ratio by shooting with 1.5x anamorphic lenses then you should have recorded in a 16:9 mode and performed a small horizontal crop in post. As it stands, you'll have to crop from the top and the bottom of the frame right now.
