Asking for a friend

--- I'm running out of aux sends on a midas mixer - I use it to mix announcers with Nat sound and crowd noise. - Basketball shoe squeaks and slam dunk sounds primarily. An occasional F bomb. I would like to combine a single XLR out into channels ( 1 and 2 ) on the mini converter. Coming out of aux send from mixer via female XLR - Should I be using a balanced 1/4 inch TRS into the Audio to SDI mini converter or just use a XLR to 1/4 inch TS unbalanced. From what I can tell the TS cable is at a much higher level than a TRS jack. Am I getting some kind of out of phase issue with a TRS jack? Channel path is such: XLR aux out to a "Y" TRS plug, into channels 1 and 2 on the Audio to SDI converter. Thoughts? Thanks.
