Is there a way to set up multi monitors?

PostFri Sep 02, 2022 5:43 pm

This is a strange request. Hopefully its not strange and is something that is doable. I have a multi room recording studio. It's in the process of renovations. I have the ATEM ISO. I have set this up for 6 camera streaming. I'd like ot figure out a way where I can split the outputs to multiple monitors so the screen can be share to five different rooms/musicians, like zoom but with better resolution and no latency. If I can't do it with adapters etc, is there a suggestion as for I how I can do this? I already have 6 DSL cameras set up on each musician for video and streaming. Once again I'm trying to set this up as the ideal situation in a slightly less ideal fashion. So each musician can see each other on monitors set up in their rooms.

I have multiple CAT6 connectors in each room. What I've been doing is using an HDMI to CAT6 adapter for just straight ATEM ISO for those rooms.

Thanks!

If I understood correctly you want to send the program feed to 5 rooms.
Take the program signal to a hdmi splitter and from there to the rooms. Probably the easiest and a reliable way to do so.

I convert the ATEM's output to SDI using a micro converter HDMI to SDI and then daisy chain the displays using SDI cables and a micro converter SDI to HDMI per display.

Be aware that daisy chaining will make you troubles when you will have to go trough multiple devices and lenght. If you go sdi, then its better to use a sdi distributor. Otherwise some displays might flicker or turn of at some point. Been there done that ;)

Thanks for the advice. Up until now I've not run into issues, but I'll happily add a distributor if the screens start flickering.

So sorry to have asked the question and then gone absent. Thank you for everyone's responses. I have had wall panels made with CAT6 connections, not SDI or HDMI. I'm using HDMI to CAT6 adpaters. They've worked great with no issues. This is just doing streaming with 5 cameras, 4 rooms. If I'm understanding correctly I can use a HDMI splitter to split the output of my ATEM ISO? I'll give it a shot I'm assuming I can also do the same while Live streaming? This would be ultra cool. Fingers crossed.

This has been so long I should probably start a fresh thread. Now I'm back at it. Long delay because I was in music production more than video this past year plus. Now I've moved my ATEM Extreme ISO to another room. I set up multiple Cat6 panels so moving them was no problem. But now that I have some time I'd like to figure out how to do this properly.

What I'm trying to do: I have 6 cameras set up for streaming and mainly video recording. Since the cameras are set up I want to have small monitors in each room so the musicians can see each other. Visibility is limited in most rooms. Already I have Cat6 to HDMI converters, but there are only two outputs on the ATEM, right? How do I take HDMI 1 and 2 out to 5 different rooms? Now that I've moved the ISO Extreme to the piano room 3 cameras can connect direct to it, whereas before I needed more. IOW 3 rooms can plug into the ATEM now, as opposed to one before.

AND can I stream as well as set these monitors up? I supposed I need an HDMI splitter? Something that will take a single CAT6 or HDMI and spit out 6 outputs?

So my current thinking is HDMI 1 in 8 out splitter. I think J-Tech Digital is a reliable company? To get to two other room I'd use my Cat6 converters. Am I missing something here?
