Dear Blackmagic Team,
Can you please implement a variable custom anamorphic de-squeeze option (at all resolutions) so we can properly monitor images using an anamorphic lens @ 1.5x / 1.6x / 1.8x / 2X [full sensor] stretch natively on the back of our blackmagic pocket 6K camera screens?
I KNOW that I am not the only one waiting on this... Search in the forums... It's been requested many times.
It's a shame to have such a large built-in monitor with out blackmagic pocket 6k cameras but cannot use for any anamorphic lenses besides 1.33x at almost all resolutions and 2x at only windowed sensor because of this missing feature. Surely you can add the above as well? I literally have to put a giant bulky external monitor on the top of my blackmagic pocket 6k camera (with an extra battery + all the extra weight with this new setup) just to use my now not-so-pocket 6K with a for example, Great Joy 1.8x anamorphic lens set. The PYXIS cameras can do the above from what I understand.
Blackmagic, do you know how much extra e-waste you are contributing to by not implementing this simple addition to your already functional 1.33x de-squeeze feature? Surely you must know how popular anamorphic lenses are today as they've become ever more affordable with brands such as Sirui, Blazar, etc with varying de-squeeze ratios beyond just 1.33x and 2x windowed. How many customers cannot use your large built-in displays, which you even recently updated on the 6K's to be tiltable, so more could use them because of this missing *software* (not hardware) feature? How many need to buy Portkeys monitors for ~$125 + batteries just to use your pocket 6K cameras with these anamorphic lenses. It is a totally ridiculous workaround for only a missing software feature. At minimum just add a set of 1.5x / 1.6x / 1.8x / 2X monitor de-squeeze options to your already 1.33x de-squeeze option. The planet will thank you. Customers will thank you. It's only an OS update that is required here... Thank you Blackmagic! I really do appreciate you listening to us when making these OS updates in general. Thanks again for your consideration!!!
