Video player - Canvas color - Mac, Windows, linux

PostSun Dec 03, 2023 9:27 am

Hello
I am looking for a video player that offers the possibility to change the colour of the player window. With VLC and pretty much every other player, the window canvas is black, which makes it impossible to see video edge blanking issues that are invariably black too. Quicktime 7 pro was good because the video player window opened at the same size file pixel raster, so there was no black boarders. But QT7 pro was abandoned a long time ago and does not work on all platforms.
Any ideas would be most welcome.
PS. If you need to change to colour of the BM resolve and Fusion viewers please add your voice to the request below.

I have found a fantastic EXR, image sequence & video open source player that CAN CHANGE THE BACKGROUND COLOUR. Easy to see BLANKING. Only more recent versions of MRV2 has this option.

In Resolve you can change the timeline viewer background to either chequerboard or light grey which should help in seeing blanking issues.
