Couple of weeks ago I was using Davinci Resolve 18 and editting the .mts files that comes from my Panasonic HMC 150 camcorder.
I was using windows 11 and everything was working fine.
This week I formated the pc and re installed Davinci resolve (version 19) and whem I throw the clips on the timeline DR doesnt recognize the audio files anymore. there is no waveforms.
I noticed that windows 11 (22h2) stopped supporting ac3 audio files, there is no sound when you play the files on windows player. But when I installed VLC the sound was back to normal.
Since that I cannot edit the files on DR with audio on it. I tried to down grade the program to several versions prior to 19 but with no sucess.
Thats so frustating. Even with windows not supporting ac3 anymore davinci should be able to recognize them. Now Im using handbrake to convert the files to aac or mp3 and its a pain cause I have to re sync with the video files on the timeline.

sure!
here it says that there is no support for AC3 codec.
here is Davinci with no waveforms
Today I downloaded Dolby AC-3/AC-4 Installer. Now Windows media player is playing the clips with sound but Davinci keeps without waveforms and no sound at all.
Hello, Thank you for this solution to the problem of playing sound on .mts from my Panasonic VX870 camcorder. I just installed a new desktop under W11 pro v 24h2 and it had become impossible compared to my old PC under W10. Everything is back to normal Greetings
