When power is lost from the 2-pin connector, the camera reverts to the BP-U battery “without interruption.”
Confirmed!
Without plugging in an SDI monitor, I had the BP-U battery in and was recording while supplying power from a V-Mount battery. When I unplugged the V-Mount battery, it seamlessly switched to the BP-U battery without a hiccup, still recording. I plugged back in the V-Mount battery and it continued as if nothing happened. The only thing that changed was what was displayed on the battery icon in the top right corner of the screen, going from AC to the battery percentage.
I then tried it with the SDI monitor plugged in and the exact same results.
This is great!
