WhatsUp with This

PostFri Dec 06, 2024 7:50 pm

Here’s a thread for whenever you are stumped by the meaning of a term related to your camera.

I don’t understand one of the options on my BMPCC4K but this may also apply to other cameras.

On the camera Menu / Setup / page 2 there’s a button to SET FUNCTION BUTTON. The button options refer to F1, F2, F3 which we all understand. But there’s a fourth option I don’t understand.

Can you tell me:
Where is the physical button found on the camera for L-Fn?
What does it do?
What L-Fn Parameter do you recommend?

In this photo I’m suggesting the Safe Area parameter but open to anything.

L-Fn is for the Lens Function Button that is present on a lot of active electronic MFT lenses.

Thank you, gentlemen! Since I don’t have active lenses, it seems reassigning the software button to something else like Safe Area has no effect.

Hi,

The guys are right. This is specifically to remap the buttons on some lenses, not the camera body. Perhaps it should have been clearer in the UI.... :(

Best regards

Thanks. No biggie, but perhaps L-Fn could be Lens-Fn. I’m still stoked when you pointed out the Pyxis 6.5 Anamorphic in the manual is really 6:5!
