Blackmagic in their infinite wisdom makes the most convoluted way of trying to pin down the correct firmware version path for your specific camera. It's honestly a baffling ordeal for a problem they themselves created and have let linger for over 8 months at this point with no end in sight.
I have a 6K Pro and have the well documented Ronin RS2 Camera Control sudden incompatibility with version 8.6. I want to roll back my firmware to the version where it was working but I can't seem to find the right match and some versions I can't even get installed!
Any help would be highly appreciated - never knew how much I loved the record button being on the gimbal until it was taken away from me. I'm missing recording shots on time because my muscle memory is in the wrong place and I have to jerk my hand around to find the button on the top of the camera...
7.9.1 - Doesn't Work with RS2 Camera Control - I think this was before Camera Control was a thing?
8.0 - No 6K Pro Update
8.1 - Doesn't Work with RS2 Camera Control - I also think this was before Camera Control was a thing?
8.1.1 - Should be a 6K Pro Update - Can't Upgrade from 8.1 - The Software just says I have the most updated version at 8.1 - release notes for 8.1.1 show that there is an upgrade from 8.1 in this package.
8.1.2 - No 6K Pro Update
8.2 - Should be a 6K Pro Update When I try to either downgrade to this version or upgrade from 7.9.1 it just installs 8.1 - pretty sure camera control worked with the firmware in the past. So this is the one I'm targeting... pulling my hair out looking at 8.1 after watching the installer install "8.2" goes through the whole update process just to come out to 8.1 on the version screen.
8.3.2 - No 6K Pro Update
8.4 - No 6K Pro Update
8.5.1 - No 6K Pro Update
8.6 Beta - Updating from 8.1 and Doesn't Work with RS2 Camera Control
8.6 - This is the version that killed camera control with the RS2 (and RS3+4 as well as I've read)
8.7 Beta - No 6K Pro Update
9.1 - No 6K Pro Update
9.1.1 - No 6K Pro Update
9.1.2 - No 6K Pro Update
9.1.3 - No 6K Pro Update
I can get from any older Camera Control version (7.9.1, 8.1) to the "current" 8.6 (within the 9.3.1 installer), All other installers can't get me past 8.1 for some reason even though I think 8.2 was the one that was working.
I run the uninstaller between every version switch and restart the computer - Using a M2 Max Macbook Pro on 15.1.1
Gimbal is on the same firmware it's always been on and even factory reset 01.05.00.20 - This all started with the 8.6 version- No Joy there
If Blackmagic really says this is DJI's fault fine then, whatever, but version 10 of camera control absolutely NEEDS a dropdown download menu built in to load whichever firmware you want - this process of trying to sort through versions that don't even apply to your camera, and then having to download an individual dmg for each is the most backwards crap I've ever had to work with, and I started in the MiniDV days. Please either help me, figure it out why such a core function broke in the first place with DJI, or make rolling back firmware actually work. I look forward to your help and thank you for your time. There are so, so many of us with this issue.
